Yoga Nidra • Approximately 35 minutes
A gentle journey inward, inviting you to step away from the distractions of everyday life and reconnect with the quiet presence that lives within you. Through guided awareness, breath, and deep relaxation, Remembering offers an opportunity to rediscover the stillness, peace, and wholeness that are always a part of you.
A Note About This Recording
Unlike my other recordings, The Remembering has no background music. You may occasionally hear the gentle sounds of my surroundings, including my cat moving about nearby. These little sounds are simply part of the space in which this practice was created.
Best enjoyed when: you feel the need to reconnect with yourself, release the weight of everyday concerns, or simply rest in a deeper sense of peace and belonging. Especially lovely during quiet afternoons, before sleep, or whenever you long for a little space to turn inward.
Introduction Transcript
Hello, and welcome to this practice of Yoga Nidra.
Allow yourself to settle into a comfortable position, preferably lying down.
Take a little time to make sure that you are warm and completely comfortable.
Gather around you anything you might need — a blanket, a cushion, perhaps something beneath the knees or beneath the head — creating for yourself a little nest of warmth and comfort.
Make any final adjustments now.
Close your eyes, and then give yourself permission to become still.
Feel the support of the ground beneath you.
Feel the weight of the body being received.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing you need to do.
For this time, simply allow yourself to rest.
Take a long, slow breath in...and release the breath with a gentle sigh.
Again, breathing slowly and deeply... and as you exhale, allow yourself to surrender a little more completely into stillness.
Let thoughts of what has already happened begin to loosen.
Let thoughts of what may happen later drift into the distance.
For now, rest here.
In this breath.
In this body.
In this moment.
If at any time you notice that the mind has wandered into thought, there is nothing you need to correct.
Simply hear the sound of my voice again...and continue from wherever you find yourself.
The body resting deeply... awareness quietly present.
